The Morristown & Erie held its first Veterans Reunion on Saturday June 25, 2022 at the Whippany Station concurrently Tri-State Railway Historical Society’s first annual Member’s Day. The weekend’s events marked the return of M&E 19 to home rails since leaving a day over five years prior on June 24, 2017.
Current M&E employees as well as veterans and retirees spanning over 50 years as far back as 1971 gathered together to celebrate our rich history and bright future with a barbecue and inspection trip across the entire length of the railroad with a stop at Morristown to tour the shop.
On Sunday June 26, 2022, the Tri-State Railway Historical Society held their first annual Member’s Day which marked the first in-person event for the organization since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic with excursions powered by their preserved M&E 19 and cabooses Delaware, Lackawanna & Western 896 and Lehigh & New England 580 additionally with M&E’s 23. Tri-State and the M&E have a proud relationship dating back over thirty years spanning multiple generations.
