Philadelphia to New York City

Ride the Positioning move from Philadelphia, PA to New York City aboard the Parlor Car "Alexander Hamilton" or the Diner Lounge "Passiac River" on Sunday November 4th, 2017. We'll depart at 3PM from Philadelphia behind the Amtrak Pennsylvanian bound for New York. Light snacks and drinks will be available for purchase onboard. Don't miss this chance to ride a former Pennsylvania Railroad Lounge over its home rails or a former Santa Fe Diner at 110 mph along the Northeast Corridor!

Along the way we'll pass through the New Jersey State Capital of Trenton, past Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ and get views of the Delaware River and the New Jersey Meadowlands. This is a great way to enjoy the fun of riding in a private railcar without the higher price of a full trip. To keep costs low, use Amtrak or NJ Transit to come down to Philly or return from New York to complete your trip.

Coming from New York? Why not take Amtrak down early and see what the City of Brotherly Love has in store then take this special trip home? Try a Philly Cheesesteak, run up the art museum steps in your own remake of "Rocky", or check out the unique stores and restaurants on South Street. Maybe history is your thing and you'd rather check out any number of Philly's historical sites.

If you live in Philly, take our trip up to New York City to give the flavor of the Big Apple a try. You'll get off at Penn Station, which is right in the heart of the city and only a short distance from hundreds of choices for dining from around the globe. Get some egg rolls in Chinatown, perhaps some famous New York Pizza or sit down at one of New York's swanky high end eating establishments and when you're done, take Amtrak back to Philly.

NOTE: This is a one-way trip between Philadelphia 30th Street Station and Penn Station New York. Passengers are responsible for their own transportation to and from Philadelphia.

This trip is chartered by Luxury Rail Vacations through the Morristown & Erie Railway, Inc.
